SCORECARD COMPLETION
**2024 changes are highlighted in yellow**
1. Score cards are preprinted for most players. If not, use a course scorecard.
2. Make sure your first and last name, your flight, 9-hole handicap, and the date are printed on
the card; then give it to your partner. Your partner will enter your score at the conclusion of each
hole on the name line. She will enter the total number of strokes per hole and the number of
putts on the appropriate lines.
3. You and your partner should also keep track of your own score. You can do this in the
marker's notes on the scorecard. It is important to keep a second record because sometimes
mistakes are made or scores are missed.
4. At the end of play, total the score by adding all the strokes for each hole.
5. Add the total number of putts and enter on the putts line.
6. If you had an eagle, birdie or par, circle it. If you make a gobble note that on the scorecard. (Gobbles Explanation)
7. SIGN the card. Both the scorer and you (attest) MUST sign and date the card in order to get
credit for the "game of the day".
8. Place the completed, signed card in the plastic box on the table near the bulletin board on
play day. DO NOT POST YOUR SCORE.
9. A player who turns in an unsigned scorecard will be assessed a 2-stroke penalty which
will be applied to the last hole of the round. An improperly completed scorecard will
disqualify a player for Game of The Day or Tournament prizes.
10. The Scorecard Manager will record your hole-by-hole gross scores in Golf Genius and use
that software to post all weekly scores for league play. The GHIN software will make any
necessary adjustments to apply the Net Double Bogey rule.
11. If you need to post scores played other days or at other courses, you must enter them into
GHIN using the gross hole-by-hole scores. Failure to do so may cause your handicap index to
be calculated incorrectly.
12. For questions, contact the Scorecard Manager.
